Alex Burdon led the Australian foundation rugby league club Glebe with a steely and determined approach. He was one of the most significant players in the movement against rugby union oppression, a gifted and talented athlete who led with a tough and aggressive approach. He also became one of the first Kangaroos and represented Australian Rugby League with distinction.
