DESCRIPTION
The Central Cumberland Club started in 1908, the first Rugby League team or club to represent the Parramatta district in the sport of rugby league. They were led in 1908 by a tough and uncompromising man by the name of Harry Bloomfield. Harry was skilled in cricket and rugby league and was a highly respected high-level rugby union player. Central Cumberland struggled in the season's games; however, Harry Bloomfield was a leader in the battles, never giving an inch and competing to the end of every game. Harry scored a single-game high points record for Central Cumberland and went on to play for NSW 1sts against Queensland in 1908. Australian History Art holds the only photographic record of Harry Bloomfield available.
