In 1935, Les Mead, a solidly built half-back, scored a Western Suburbs club record, achieving the highest number of points in a single game for 1st grade. Les was intelligent, tough, and a great leader, inspiring other players to perform at their best. Always in the middle of the battle, directing play, Les earned a reputation for being extremely strong and dependable. Les is the son of Western Suburbs foundation player Ted Mead, with the black and white colors ingrained in his blood. Les represented Australia, NSW, and his club to the best of his ability, also becoming the NSW RL leading points scorer in 1933. A true Western Suburbs man to his absolute core.
