ORIENTAL HOTEL – CRONULLA
Opened in 1888 the Oriental Hotel stood on the site where the now famous Northies stands. At the time it was the largest building in Cronulla and became the centre of all things. Recluse for shipwreck survivors, locals and holiday makers the Oriental Hotel became the place where fishermen, sailors, shell gritter’s, boat builders, travelers and locals would mix and relax. Unfortunately burned down and replaced in 1904 the old timber hotel stood on a place which would become famous by its location and replacement hotels. Not presented in this form previously it comes numbered and signed with framing options for the buyer, limited to 41 copies. Sized at 29 x 51cm, also available in a three print set of Cronulla Hotels from Australian History Art.
