RAILWAY HOTEL – SUTHERLAND
Built on the site of the present day Boyles Hotel at Sutherland it was the hub and centre of all things in Sutherlands early days. Many stories and tales eventuated from this hotel which opened in 1887. Strongly connected to the Railway and having the steam tram to Cronulla outside the hotel it was a meeting place, information hub and a strong supporter of local sports and organisations. Replaced in 1938 by the present day Boyles Hotel the ghosts of the Railway Hotel still reside in the shadows. A piece of Sutherland Shire history not presented in this form anywhere else limited to 41 copies, numbered and signed. Sized at 29 x 51 cm with framing choices for the buyer the print is also available in a three print set of Sutherland Hotels from Australian History Art.
